Books

What I’m Reading: July

I greatly enjoy reading. I also enjoy hearing recommendations from my friends as they share their favorites. It’s been an enriching experience. In this new series, I will post my recommendations for books. I hope you enjoy!

I read these three books within the last year or two. Since this is my first post in this series, I wanted to share them with you because they have greatly impacted my life.

Prayer by Timothy Keller: This book has greatly improved my prayer life. It gave me a new perspective as well as reminding me the purpose of prayer. I admit, I had to read the book in small chunks because I wanted to dwell upon the richness of what I had read before adding to it.

Own Your Life by Sally Clarkson: I love Sally Clarkson’s books. They have helped me journey through motherhood and homeschooling. Even if you’re not a homeschooler, I think you will gain a lot from her. This book renewed my focus and reminded me of my dreams of what I want my life to look like as a wife, mom, teacher, and writer.

Living Forward by Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy: I read this book over two years ago and still reference it quite a bit in my life. It showed me how to stop drifting in my life and start purposely living. It also showed me how to count the cost of saying “yes” to something and that it is okay to say “no” when those activities may interfere too much with what God is calling me to do.

I hope you find these recommendations useful. I would love to hear what books you are enjoying at the moment. Leave your suggestions in the Comments Section below.
