    Jesus and His Distress

    “And going a little farther, He fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And He said, ‘Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.’” (Mark 14:35-36) I recently re-read these verses as I was preparing to write a devotional for a contest I was entering. The contest theme focused on fear, anxiety, and stress.     When We Lack Faith

    Lately, as I’ve re-read books in the Old Testament, I’ve asked God to reveal Himself through His Word, to help me learn more about Him and who He is so that I can apply it to my life. While reading the story of the twelve men who were sent out by Moses to spy on the land of Canaan, I believed He answered my prayer as I had new insight into how important it is to keep the faith, rather than live a faithless, fear-filled life.
